Texas: 27-year old suspect of a hit-and-run crash that killed Rowlett mother turns himself in

Last week, an unidentified man slammed his pick-up truck into the car of Joyce Cawis at the intersection of Jupiter Road and Forest Lane.
According to the latest report from the Garland Police officer, 27-year old Edgar Alfonso Ugalde has turned himself in for the deadly hit and run case filed against him.

Further reports from the officers state that Ugalde slammed his pickup truck into Cawis’ car and walked away from the crime area after hitting her. Though she was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital but was pronounced dead later on.
Cawis’ was a 46-year-old nurse from Rowlett living with her two children. Now her children are left behind her. Ugalde rushed away from the spot that day but has turned himself in Tuesday at the Garland Police Department.
He has been taken into custody and charged with failure to stop and offer help in the case that involved death.
